  She was a native of Vance County and was the daughter of the late J. Ashton Poythress and Verla Jacobs Poythress, and was the widow of Mack June Ellington. Mrs. Ellington was a member of the Middleburg Baptist Church where she was a former Deacon.
  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Middleburg Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Nutt and the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in the Middleburg Cemetery.
  She is survived by: one daughter, Verla Ellington of Henderson; one son, Wayne Ellington of Henderson; three grandchildren, Matthew Ellington, Ashley Ellington, and Emily Ellington; two sisters, Dixie P. Young and Tiny P. Culler both of Henderson; three brothers, Carlton Poythress, Dale Poythress, and Jerry Poythress all of Henderson; and a very special friend, Vickie Sossamon.
  She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Verla Paige Twisdale.
  The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at the J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home.
  Serving as active pallbearers will be: Ashton Young, Steve Poythress, Ricky Poythress, Carl Poythress, Ray Pegram Sr., and Daryl Hall.⁴
