  She was preceded in death by her husband, David Gupton, Sr. in 1998.
  Mrs. Gupton is survived by a son, David Gupton Jr. and wife Tammy of Pfafftown; a daughter, Terry Orrell of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Cameron Orrell of Winston-Salem, Mandy Gupton of Greensboro, Chris Orrell of Charlotte, and Ally Gupton of Pfafftown; a brother, James Renn Jr. and wife Lou of Henderson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as sisters and brothers-inlaw, all of Henderson.
  A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
  Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Bethabara Moravian Church with the Rev. Don Griffin and the Rev. Tripp May officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.²

  Mr. Renn was a graduate of Epsom High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy for four years. He retired after 48 faithful years with the North Carolina Department of Environment, Health, and Natural Resources. He was a lifelong member of Liberty Christian Church, where he served on the Trustees, Finance, and House and Ground Committees.
  
  Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 13, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Liberty Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
  
  Surviving are two sisters, Eris R. Lindsey, of Burlington, N.C., and Betsy R. Edwards and husband Talmadge, of Louisburg, N.C; a brother, Ronald T. Renn and wife Laney, of Henderson; a sister-in-law, Henrietta Renn of Henderson; two special friends, Linda Watkins, of Henderson, and Pat McGhee, of Louisburg, N.C. Many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews loved ‘Uncle Al’. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Renn and W.J. Renn.
  
  The family will receive friends Sunday immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at Liberty Christian Church. All other times, they will be at the home, 7890 N.C. Highway 39 South, Henderson.
  
  Serving as active pallbearers will be David Renn, Chris Renn, Jonathan Renn, Walter Renn, Rick Lindsey, Tim Lindsey, Wayne Renn, and Randy Kearney.¹

  Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Robin Lee Renn; two daughters, Elizabeth Stevenson and Edith R.
