  A native of Henderson, NC, he was the son of the late Edith and Melvin Thomas Renn, Sr. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service having served on the USS Forrestal, USS Valley Forge and the USS Ticonderoga. He also retired from Southland Corporation after 20 years.
  
  He is survived by his wife Judith C. Renn, a daughter, Donna R. Allen, two sons, Thomas Renn and Jeffrey Renn and wife Beth, nine grandchildren, Courtney Foster and husband Brian, Lorne Renn, Sean Renn, Megan Renn, John Renn, Alexis Renn, Alexander Allen, Grayson Allen, and Seth Allen and two great-grandchildren, Emili Renn and Kellan Foster. He is also survived by a niece, Emily Howard and a nephew, Carlton Poythress. He was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth Poythress and a brother, Edwin Renn.
  
  A graveside service with military honors will be conducted Monday at 11 AM at Princess Anne Memorial Park with Rev. Ronald Lee officiating. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Lynnhaven Chapel Sunday from 3-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church.   Services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 101 Main St., Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Barbara J. Cooke. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
  Surviving are: two daughters, Linda C. Todd, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Delores C. Critcher, of Henderson; a brother, Jack Renn, of Henderson; and two grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Renn, and two brothers, Cooper Renn and Shelton Renn.
  The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of Delores C. Critcher, 2064 Oxford Road.
  Serving as active pallbearers will be Sam Watkins, George Watkins, Trey Watkins, Michael Renn, Mac Renn, Larry Renn, and John C. Critcher.
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, P.O.Box 974, Henderson, N.C., 27536.
