She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband, Edwin J. Cole of the home; a daughter, Karen K. Gupton of Raleigh; a son, Jeffrey G. Kearney of Wilmington; a stepdaughter, Susan Carter of Bakersville; a stepson, Kelly Cole of LaCrosse, Va; three sisters, Marie Powell of Arizona; and Jeanette Strother and Ruby Evans, both of Louisburg; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Leon Kearney. The funeral was held Feb. 5 in the Franklin Funeral Service Chapel. The Rev. Deryl Holliday officiated.³
