For 26 years prior to retiring he was a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, William G. Bryant, Alvesta Bryant, Posey Bryant, Julian Bryant, Tommy Bryant and Calvin Bryant. The funeral will be held at 2 PM Wednesday in Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Greg Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lena Byrd Bryant; 2 sons, Kent Byrant of Fiji Islands and Doug Bryant of Durham; 2 daughters, Mrs. Nianne Herring of Creedmoor and Mrs. Alice Epps of Durham; 2 brothers, Alvin Bryant and Johnnie Bryant, both of Durham; and 6 grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9 PM tongiht at Hudson Funeral Home other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 2125 E. Geer St., Durham 27704, for the Missionary Ministry of Kent and Becky Bryant in the Fiji Islands.²
