Born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late David Louis and Ora Strum Van Dyke. Mrs. Ayscue was a homemaker.
She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Bertha Stainback and Magnolia Dickie Sunday School Class. She was very active in the Senior Adult Ministry and was a former Sunday School Teacher. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Jim Curtis and the Rev. John R. Yevak. Burial, will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Glenn Ayscue, Sr; a daughter, Rev. Tammy L. Ayscue, of Epsom; a son, Richard G. Ayscue, Jr., of Tarboro; two sisters, Sadie V. Fox, of Mebane and Bettie V. Sogar, of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

- Obituary: Circa 18 April 1932 at Henderson, Vance Co., NC, Henry Thomas Vaughan, 77, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday at the Vance county hospital where he had been for a week for treatment following a stroke of paralysis suffered about the first of February from which he never recovered. Complications later set in hastening his death.
Mr. Vaughan was a lifelong resident of this county. His wife died more than thirty years ago and he is survived by the following children: Thomas Vaughan, Warrenton; Mrs. H.R. Edwards, Franklin county; Mrs. S.T. Faulkner and Mrs. O.V. Faulkner of Henderson Rt 1 and Mrs. W.S. Dickerson of Franklin County; also one brother R.D. Vaughan of Vance County.
The deceased was a member of old Bethel Baptist church. Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon from the old homeplace and internment was in the old Duke cemetery.
