  Mr. Bryant was a charter member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, Sudan Temple and Durham Masonic Lodge No. 352, AF&AM. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason.
  Surviving are two daughters, Ms. Carol B. Alford of Durham and Ms. Deborah Bryant of Hillsborough; three brothers, Mr. Alvin Bryant, Mr. Johnnie Bryant and Mr. George Bryant, all of Durham and three grandchildren.²

Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lena Byrd Bryant; 2 sons, Kent Byrant of Fiji Islands and Doug Bryant of Durham; 2 daughters, Mrs. Nianne Herring of Creedmoor and Mrs. Alice Epps of Durham; 2 brothers, Alvin Bryant and Johnnie Bryant, both of Durham; and 6 grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9 PM tongiht at Hudson Funeral Home other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 2125 E. Geer St., Durham 27704, for the Missionary Ministry of Kent and Becky Bryant in the Fiji Islands.²

  She was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church.
  Martha will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her work and family. Surviving are a daughter, Anne Edgerton Pajel and her husband, Anjou, of Durham and granddaughter, Anja Pajel, of Durham.
  Graveside memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008, in the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Michael Poole and Jerry Britt will preside.²

  Mrs. Renn was brought up in the Cokesbury United Methodist Church and was a member there until 1948 when she joined Brookston Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the “Presbyterian Women” and for many years was a teacher in the “Youth Group”. She was also a substitute teacher for 17 years in the Vance County Schools.
  
  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brookston Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Lindsey Miller. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
  
  Mrs. Renn is survived by three sons, Barry Renn of Fayetteville, Greg Renn and wife, Tammy B. Renn, and Scott Renn and wife, Cathy E. Renn, of Henderson; six grandchildren, Niki Vaughan, Lindsey Renn Lassiter, Whitney Renn, Luke Renn, Jamie Renn Clark, and Matt Renn; two great-grandchildren, Angel Vaughan and Ella Renn; four step-grandchildren, T.J. Bolton, Amanda Pegram, Dustin Bolton, and Derrick Bolton; one sister, Louise B. Bowen of Henderson; one brother, Henry H. Buchanan and wife, Irene Buchanan, of Henderson; one brother-in-law, Lawrence L. Renn and wife, Carol Renn, of Virginia Beach, Va; one sister-in-law, Lucille Morgan of Raleigh; and a number of nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews; and great-great- nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.³
