Mr. Ellington was a retired United Methodist minister having served 26 years in the Western North Carolina Conference. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Ellington Donaldson.
  Surviving are his wife, Blondell Poole Ellington of the home; daughter, Nancy Ellington of Poute Vedva Beach, Fla; sister, Shelly Ellington Graham of West End; grandchildren, Becky Heatherly, Amy Ellington, Bradley and Mark Beamer; and great-granddaughter, Savannah Heatherly.²
