Street, Henderson, died Wednesday May 24, 2000 in Maria Parham Hospital. A native of Henderson, he was the son of the late Hammie Overton and Alice Eugenia Hicks Falkner. Mr. Falkner was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a memberof the American Legion. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a charter member of both the Henderson Jaycees and the Henderson Civitan Club. In the CivitanClub, he received an award for 44 years of perfect attendance. For several decades he has been President of Falkner Coal and Oil and Tackle Shop.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Jack Benfield. Surviving are his wife of 52 years Agnes Futrell Falkner; a daughter Fon F. Cornwell of Hickory; two sons, Douglas A. Falkner and Steven R. Falkner, both of Henderson; two sisters, Florence F. Oakley of Jack-sonville and Mary Gene F. Teiser of Henderson; a brother, Hamilton H.Falkner of Henderson; and two grandchildren, Wesley Cornwell of Hickory and Mallory Falkner of Hen-derson.4
