She was a native of Vance County and was the daughter of the late Sidney Louis Faulkner and Alice Moseley Faulkner, and was the widow of Earnest M. “Mac” Watkins.
Mrs. Watkins was a retired bookkeeper, having worked at Interiors for 35 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a former children's Sunday School Teacher for over 25 years and volunteered in the church office and library.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church by Dr. Paul A. Baxley. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Angela W. Hall and husband, Ed, of Salisbury; two sons, S.M. Watkins and wife, Kris, of Charleston, S.C., and Mark Watkins and wife, Renee, of Raleigh; one sister, Mary Belle F. Abbott and husband, Hartwell, of Henderson; one sister-in-law, Helen W. Umphlet of Cary; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melissa Lewis Hall.2
