A native of Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William Cade and Minnie Ball Faulkner and the widow of Utah Saunders Briggs.
She was a homemaker and member of West End Baptist Church. She was a volunteer for the Adult Day Program Thrift Store for many years and enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, yard sales and reading.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Briggs-Howell of Woodland; one sister, Josephine Faulkner Raby of Norlina; one brother, William Alan Faulkner of Clarksburg, Va; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Faulkner and Eddie Conn Faulkner, and two sisters, Louis Cook and Susie Felts.3

- Obituary: On 21 December 2006 at Houston, TX, FLOYD DON FAULKNER, a loving father and companion, passed from this earth to Heaven's eternal light on December 15, 2006. Born October 19, 1928 in High Point, North Carolina, Floyd, at a very early age quit school to help provide for his mother, brothers and sisters. At age 19 he entered the U.S. Navy and served his country for two years. All who met Floyd recognized his mechanical abilities. Though his education had been cut short, he continued to advance in rank with oil and gas companies, eventually settling in the quality control profession where he started his own company in Houston, Texas. Since selling his business, Floyd has been retired and living in Magnolia, Texas. He was never too busy to help a neighbor, friend or family member. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Gelene Hallman Faulkner in 1992. He is survived by his loving companion, Mary Hightower; daughter Pam Braly; sons Don Faulkner, Dean Faulkner and wife, Jenny; and David Faulkner and friend, Courtney Curry. Floyd is also survived by several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday morning in the Chapel of Magnolia Funeral Home in Magnolia, Texas from 9:00 to 11:00 when a Memorial Service will begin .3
