Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Thomas James and Ada Faulkner Finch. He was the widower of Josephine Davis Finch.
  Mr. Finch was a retired farmer. A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal of World War II with Germany Clasp. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church and the Bertha Mitchell Sunday School Class.
  Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Liberty Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue, the Rev. George Williams, and the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
  Surviving are two daughters, Betty Jo Oakley Pernell and husband, Henry, and Marie Oakley Pegram, and husband, Brantley, all of Henderson; three grandchildren, Angela Padgett, and husband, Craig, of Henderson, Herman Pegram, and wife, Debra, of Fountain, N.C., and Bryant Pegram, of Henderson; and four great-grandchildren, Nicole Griffin, Tyler Pegram, and Zach Pegram, and Andrea Padgett.
  He was preceded in death by three sisters, Camilla Finch, Adell Ayscue, and Beulah Ausborn; and three brothers, James Finch, William Finch, and Fred Finch.
  The family received friends Monday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of Marie and Brantley Pegram, 211 Par Drive, Henderson.
  Serving as active pallbearers will be Phil Grissom, Wesley Knott, Earl Pittman, Glenn Ayscue, Alton Foster, Carlton Eaves, Allen "Buck" Edwards, and Robert Wilkins.⁵
