  He was born in Wise, NC, September 29, 1918, son of the late Charles Walker Fleming and Tabitha Lillian White Fleming, and was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Lena Fischer Fleming in 2001.
  Mr. Fleming proudly retired at age fifty-five from Western Electric Company of Baltimore, MD, with thirty-seven years of service. He was a former member of Hiss Methodist Church, Parkville, MD, and had served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
  He was a longtime supporter of SOS Health Care, a medical mission located in Myrtle Beach, SC, and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
  Mr. Fleming dearly loved his children and grandchildren and received much love from them in return. He was proud of his family and enjoyed the good fortune of having his children living on either side of him in North Myrtle Beach and just down the street.
  Surviving are his children, Patricia Hockhalter and husband Robert of Chicago, IL, Ralph Fleming and wife Opal and Maureen Bialecki and husband Raymond, all of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Karen Blaski, John Hockhalter, Daniel Fleming, Brian Fleming, Brandon Bialecki and Jeffrey Bialecki; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Irina Lee and Clarissa Blaski.
  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC, by the Rev. Chris Carlisle.
  Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.³

  Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 2 p.m., at City Road United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dan Baer and Jimmy Adams. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
  Surviving are two daughters, Geraldine Renn Hicks, of Henderson and Janice Renn Cooper, and husband, Morris, of Cary, N.C; four grandchildren, Glenn Gupton, of Henderson, N.C., Susan Mangum, and husband, Wayne, of Stem, N.C., Jason Richardson, of Durham, N.C., and David Richardson, and wife, Angela, of Cary, N.C; and six greatgrandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Flowers Seaman; and a brother, Daniel Carlton Flowers.
  The family will receive friends today, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of Geraldine R.
