He died 17 NOv 1820 in Bulloch Co. and is buried in the Everett Cemetary in what is now Candler Co.. He had 7 children His will was made 29 July 1820 and probated 4 Dec 1820. (Book X pg 30). See page 435 of BULLOCH CO., GA. by Alvaretta Kenan Register. 2. "John Everett served as Private in the Militia of North Carolina. He was wounded in the shoulder by a rifle ball which remained in his shoulder until his death. This occurred at Betty's Bridge on Downing Creek near Peedee (river) in N.C. He served under Capt. DeJarnett from N.C. and in company with James Pickett; also with Col. Wade when he retreated." (Reference: Pension application #3404 by his widow; affidavit in application describing his service.) 3. John Everett was among the first Justices of the Peace named by the Legislative Assembly to represent Bulloch Co. He was also a County Commissioner, and held that office November 7, 1801 when George Sibbald deeded 200 acres to create the town of Statesboro. 4. John Everett was Justice of Inferior Court of Bulloch County for several years. He served from January 1815 thru May 1819. 5. CAUTION: DO NOT CONFUSE THIS JOHN WITH JOHN EVERETT OF MARTIN CO., N.C.
